eBay supports Scamming

eBay supports Scamming

For me no iPhone5. Too expensive, little added value and some negative feedback on loss of signal. With (again) a broken screen I need a new phone. I am happy with the iphone4. The solution: eBay.

Bought iPhone 4S on eBay. Although more expensive, I have specifically searched for a SIMLOCK FREE iPhone. I dont want the hassle and the problems with updates. Found one advertised on eBay in France: EUR 550 Simlock free 4S 64 Gb.

Finally delivered after 2 weeks: LOCKED iPhone with a Gevey unlock chip. First of of all, I did not want this and did not order this, second it did not even work.

Communication with seller worked fine until I requested a refund and wanted to return the Locked iPhone. Radio Silence.

Started complaint through eBay. No support from eBay. They insisted on guarding privacy of the seller, who has obviously scammed me, and did not want to give any information on how often this incorrect transactions happen. The only solution eBay gave me was to go to the police.
They took no action at all nor to me nor to the seller. Most of all I am surprised to hide the identity of the seller. Everywhere, where you buy online or offline you know from whom you are buying. Not at eBay. With this policy eBay facilitates fraud and scamming.

Now the next challenge is to go to the Belgium police and see how they are able to help me reversing the transaction in a small town in France Chateaudun finding eBay member iphone.mobile. Sender Auto Entrepeneur, Hitech Discount 6 Rue Anatole. I could not find anyone there.

Lessons learned: Don't trust everyone on eBay, Don't expect Support from eBay in conflicts, Pay via Paypal this extends possibility to complain, don't wait to long to start a complaint procedure. I passed the 45 days period (with 15 days due to late delivery and christmas period) which limits your possibilities on complaining.

To be continued..
